Education in Austin
In addition to being home to one of the biggest and best public universities, as well as one of the biggest and best community college systems, Austin and the surrounding cities, such as Round Rock, Pflugerville, and Georgetown, are home to exemplary, nationally-recognized elementary, middle, junior high, and high schools. As one might expect in a metropolitan capital city, education is a top priority, bringing magnet and charter schools, as well as private academies to the area, too. Austin is also home to many well-regarded special education centers, including Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired and Texas School for the Deaf.
In the city of Austin, a child can go from montessori or pre-school all the way through medical or law school--or film school, for that matter--Austin is home to many college graduates but maintains an easygoing and unassuming attitude about it.
